Seeking Enlightenment: Charlestonians and the Grand Tour of Europe

Join Valerie Perry for a fast and encompassing lecture of the cities and many sites that 18th and 19th century Charlestonians would have toured as they traveled on carriages, steamers, trains and conveyances from destination to destination. Cities that would have been visited include London, Paris, Rome, Florence, Berlin and Prague to name a few. Also included are the various thoughts, journal entries and letters from several Charlestonians of the past.

This program is open to the public.
